Although Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11) might seem some way off, this time will fly by for our cohort starting in September 2027 and so it is important to look ahead. In Year 9, students will have an options process where they will choose which subjects the are going to study in Years 10 and 11. The precise range of subjects may be affected by the requirements that emerge from the government's curriculum review, but the offer is likely to be as follows.

Core Subjects

All students will study GCSEs in Maths, English Language and English Literature. Students will study either the "double" science GCSEs (covering combined sciences) or the "triple" science GCSEs (with separate qualifications in Biology, Chemistry and Physics).

In addition, all children will have lessons in Physical Education, Religious Education and Citizenship (including careers).

Optional Subjects

The school will offer all the subjects on offer in Key Stage 3 as options in Years 10 and 11, leading to an appropriate qualification, which will either be a GCSE or a technical qualification. We currently envisage most students studying four option subjects in Years 10 and 11.
